چکیده
ABSTRACT Purpose: to compare the Auditory Middle Latency Response in adults, one group with and another without altered auditory skills. In addition, aim was cut-off values of 30% 50% for Ear Effect terms sensitivity specificity. Methods: sample comprised 32 individuals both genders no hearing loss who were divided into Group 1 (16 alterations skills) 2 skills). All participants received an audiological evaluation measurement Brainstem Potentials. Results: when compared, a statistically significant difference only observed Na Pa amplitude waves A1C3 A2C3. analysis specificity Response, value gave better balance between Conclusion: adults presented abilities had smaller response amplitudes components generated left hemisphere. Middle-latency auditory responses in neurological diseases.
UNLABELLED The presence of middle-latency evoked auditory potentials allows for integrity evaluation of both peripheral and the central auditory systems, and also, that of the nucleus and auditory pathways of sub-cortical region. They have also been used to study alterations of these structures in different neurological diseases. AIMS the aim of this study is to verify the latency of the midd...
متن کاملSpeech-evoked Brainstem Auditory Responses and Auditory Processing Skills: A Correlation in Adults with Hearing Loss
Introduction The auditory system consists of sensory structures and central connections. The evaluation of the auditory pathway at a central level can be performed through behavioral and electrophysiological tests, because they are complementary to each other and provide important information about comprehension. Objective To correlate the findings of speech brainstem-evoked response audiomet...
متن کاملAuditory middle latency responses in individuals with debilitating tinnitus.
Many researchers have investigated the possibility of using auditory evoked potentials (AEPs) to objectively diagnose tinnitus. Published AEP studies suggest differences in neural activity in individuals with tinnitus compared to control groups, but the results are not consistent. There is a great deal of variability seen in auditory evoked- and event-related potentials in the tinnitus populati...

UNLABELLED The presence of auditory middle latency evoked responses allows us to make an evaluation of the peripheral and central auditory system integrity , as well as the nucleus and auditory ways existing until the level of the thalamus-cortical region and primary auditory cortex. AIM Our objective is to evaluate the presence or not of this numerous peaks, as well as, their latencies and i...
